- Higher-end carpets: up to £40 per m²

How We Price Carpet Fitting
For most projects over 20m², we price carpet and fitting by the square metre. This keeps things simple and transparent when you’re planning your budget.
For smaller areas, awkward spaces, or more complex work, fitting may be priced based on the time required, rather than a straight m² rate. This ensures you’re paying a fair price for the work involved no cutting corners, no rushed jobs.

What Costs Are Involved in a Carpet Installation?
The carpet itself is just one part of the overall cost. A typical carpet installation may also include:

- Underlay
- Gripper rods
- Door bars/ thresholds

Do I need new underlay?
In most cases, yes and it’s one of the best investments you can make.

Under normal use, underlay lasts around 10 years. Fitting new carpet on old underlay can reduce performance and may affect manufacturer warranties.
Our general rule is simple:
New carpet = new underlay
How Much Does Underlay Cost?

- Expect to pay around £5 - £13 per m², supplied and fitted
What really matters is density, not just thickness. A very soft underlay can feel nice at first but may flatten quickly. A denser underlay gives better long-term support and performance.

Gripper Rods: What Are They and What Do They Cost?
Gripper rods are fitted around the edge of the room and are used to stretch and secure the carpet.

- On concrete floors, gripper may need to be bonded rather than nailed
